merelyplayers' Creative Industry Night #5 happened on Monday, 28th February, at Sydney's famous ArtHouse Hotel. As with all our past Creative Industry Nights, it was a night of variety: entertainment and news. The special 'news' of the evening was the official launch of the feature film project 'Mortal Fools'.
Hosted by one of Australia's foremost voice-over artists and actors, Peter McAllum, who took our guests on a wonderful night's journey of entertainment, information and networking.

Creative Industry
Night #5
To kick the night off, the crowd was entertained by the fantastic acoustic sounds of The Waiter... back by very popular demand after his last appearance at Creative Industry Night #2. Having just released his new EP,he presented some new material, as well as older favourites.
Next, it was the night's main event... our wonderful host introduced Executive Producer Phil Moore, who announced the production of the newest independent Australian Film - Mortal Fools, for which he had been in pre-production for several months. The guests at the Arthouse were the first to learn about this exciting film... and to hear about the casting plans, with auditions to happen within weeks. |
During the breaks, Phil was approached by actors eager to give him their biogs and book audition times.
Throughout Phil's talk, several of his short films were shown, including his award winning 'Bobsy Boys'.
It was a great night with entertainment and information, while at the same time giving creative artists including actors, models, film-makers, writers, visual artists, dancers, directors and many, many more - the opportunity to mix and network.
