Entrance!

merelyplayers officially came into being on November 27th 2003. With a launch party at the Mandarin Club, it was action-packed evening with some of Sydney’s most ‘happening’ musical talent.

The entertainment kicked off with Sydney’s then newest music sensation, the eclectic and awe inspiring musical duo Didjitalis [who later featured at Creative Industry Night # 1 by popular demand], with their wildly original, uplifting music, using electronics, a didgeridoo and lots of funky beats.

To the delight of the crowd, two fantastic bands then took over. Entropic, fresh from another tour set the beat… and then handed the stage to Docta Hepcat.

With door prizes galore, donated by sponsors including: Dendy Cinemas, TAP Gallery, Direction with Clarity, Darlinghurst Theatre and Quiet On Set, this night was the most talked-about launch of 2003.

The night was capped off courtesy of DJ Stomp, whose sounds took the guests though a night a dancing ‘til they dropped. Truly a great way to launch merelyplayers.
